Hello everyone, Mummy has a question : Is it true that Schnauzer cant eat anything made from chicken? Because when she bought me, the petshop man says that Schnauzer cant eat chicken as it will cause allergy.

Wen said...: I came across a lot of M.Schnauzers who are allergy to chicken that leads to bumps and rashes. Most of them are on fish or lamb diet and some even on vegetarian diet. However, it's also depend on individual dogs. Even 2 of my shih tzus can't take chicken. Hope Vodka is not one of them...

Emma and Emmy said...: My family agreed with Wen, it depends on individual. Some dogs are allergic to certain meat protein, grain, and ingridents. The person can't based on 1 or 2 dogs and personal experience jump to conclusion that chicken isn't good for all Schnauzers.

If you are allergic, your mommmy can spot rush and bumps inside your ears and around your paws. She may also spot flake nails, also.

The best thing is talk to your vet when you have your routine check up next time.

Hmmm, never heard such stuffs but he probably said that becos perhaps schnauzers are more prone to getting allergy after eating chicken ?
Anyways, I'm sure there are other dogs who can't eat chicken too.
Luckily for me, I can & I love them !
hehe, you can ask your mom to let you try bit by bit. Don't give a whole pile of shredded chicken at a time. Test out the chicken by a few small pieces 1st.
Then you'll know the results (:
